update

hey guys. sorry we haven't updated in a while. between school work, angel, the x-files, and our persoanl lives that we pretend to have (when in reality we're just watching angel and the x-files), there hasn't been much time to fit in a little CRZ action. you can expect something by halloween, for we are going to recap our field trip to David B's house!!
stay tuned!

Cant wait for an update! And glad your all getting stuck into Angel, it only gets better.
And here's to hoping David B. is fond of Halloween, otherwise we may need his 'Bones' counterpart on a crime scene. :P
Look forward to more updates!

A "personal life" is like a spaceship. Few ever claim to have seen them, and we are reluctant to believe those that do.

Glad to hear you guys are watching Angel. I'm very hopeful that CRZ will not end with Buffy, but go on to cover Angel as well.

Anyone (yes, I mean anyone: fans, cult members, CRZ crew, little old ladies, etc) know what they're going to dress up as for Halloween?

Benny said...

Sexy Ghost??
:D

Benny said...

Oh n have you guys been watching the x-files too? I saw them at the shops verrrrry cheap like last month so i bought seasons 1-6. Im just starting season 4 now. How exciting!

nan said...

Ah! im just netflixing the seasons. Im only on the 2nd disc of season 1 of Xfiles, but im on the 2nd disc of season 2 of Angel and LOVING IT. The first season was...difficult, to say the least, but i LOVE 2nd season. its not as slapsticky/campy as the first.

benny-where did you buy the xfiles?? theyre so expensive here

Erin said...

Australia prolly gets all of the cool Chinese bootlegs. XP Then again, he could just be getting lucky.

I've almost finished Season 2 of Angel (I'm DVRing it on TNT, and I have about 2 episodes left of Season 2). I like Angel so far, but I fear it's becoming too...I dunno, I hesistate to say "cheesy" but I will anyway. Cheesey. But I have faith. And I love Alexis Denisof, just for the record.

I've just finished with Season 3 of The X-Files, although I've seen most of Season 7 and some other random episodes of later seasons as well. I'm currently downloading Season 4 via bittorrent, but it's being annoyingly stubborn, so I dunno when I'll be able to continue on. ;-; I may have to resort to alternative avenues. Whatever they may be...

Ok so - weve got this store down here called JB-HiFi, and its the official coolest store in the world. Every CD, DVD etc EVER is available there and its sooooo goddam cheap. Bought All 7 seasons of Buffy and 5 of Angel there.. and XFiles 1-6 and battlestar galactica i just bought havent started yet (joss whedons fav. show :D), So yeah thats where i get my stuff from.
On another note. Angel is my fav. show ever. And one word to describe it could NEVER be cheesy :@, it is so deep and complex and dark. but yeah season 1 sucks ass. (good in its own way tho - doyle was awesome) Season 4 is like the biggest soap-opera in history and was my personal favorite season of television ever (some disagree and say its one of the worst :( losers!)
Oh and Wesley becomes probably the most deep and complex char. in the verse so you got a lot to look forward to erin :D
Oh n PLEASE email me girls :D spikebytes that means you too :p
beren_mortal@hotmail.com

Neil said...

Battlestar Galactica is utter brilliance. By the end of seaosn2, you'll be completely speechless. It's THAT good.
Im in the Angel season 4 'not as good' front myself. Still had some killer eps and the first half of the season was fantastic, but personally I think it lost it alittle but while keeping itself together if thats makes any sence. By season 5 is was at the top of its game.
Feel free to email me too!
be3d7@hotmail.com
:D

I also hope you girls watch Firefly, seriously. Needed viewing.

Benny said...

Didnt mean to call you a loser Neil :D
For me, season four (WHEN i watched it on tv) just delivered so much every week that it really just left me speechless. You thought it was going one way then one episode later, WHAM totally different. Then (not to spoil!) Angel in a bottle :D Then Jasmine!
To be honest on repeat viewing it loses some of its impact. Still I have to give credit to what it did for me first time out. (S5 takes the cake for best series now :D 'Time Bomb' End of act 3. Favorite moment ever. :D)
(Oh and a quick question Neil, how come when i popped in S1Ep1 of BG, i got a 'previously on BG' montage??)

Harry said...

I must agree on season 5 of angel being awesome! although i havnt seen all of them . .but llyria is an awesome character but such a sad loss . :'(
But i must agree firefly is awesome! its just so different and soo funny with some awesome love at first sight characters!
feel free to email me to!!

Neil said...

Ok Benny, The deal with that is there are three BSG parts.
BSG was originally a mini-series, which was the beginning of the show, and those are the sections you have missed from starting at season 1. The mini-series was so well recieved they continued it on as a tv series (dont quote me on that, but its to that affect)
So you need to buy the mini-series first, then theres season 1, then 2 and season 3 has just aired in America.
:D
Hope that gives you a 'better' understanding!
Oh and I completely agree with you on Time Bomb, I actually skipped a heart beat. The episode was so well crafted as well, how it all sliced together at the end stage.
Oh and no worried about the loser thing, Im totally used to it. :P

Neil said...

Oh and to add Benny, think of the mini-series as a feature length prequel to the show. It's just the beginning of the story.
Not sure where your located but its available everywhere.

Benny said...

Thanks Neil! Ill go look for the mini-series ASAP.
Hey Ive started a trend with the 'email me!' thing... but as yet... no emails :( they must totally hate me! :P
Oh and just thinking about Time Bomb gives me shivers! Im off to watch it again :D - Oh and the other thing ive been meaning to re-watch is Whedon doing the 'dance of joy'. I think ill do that first :D
And remember all cult members - NO SPOILERS for the girls !! :@ Or ill hunt you down! (Angel in a bottle NOT a spoiler :D)

nan said...

ok gentlemen, im speaking for everyone in CRZ (all 3 of us) when i say that if YOU write US an email, we will respond with glee. however, it would be "unprofessional" and weird if you emailed you. nothing personal, just kind of weird. (what all that REALLY means is that we really would have nothing intelligent to say if we did email you) :)

we'll be waiting for your emails! ;)

Neil said...

Sent ya one! Also included a song you might like, written by Joss too.
:D

Erin said...

geez, we really need a forum now, don't we? I sense awesometacular community potential.

Keep the emails comin', people! <3

Benny said...

Ok Email coming your way! :D
Neil thanks I bought the miniseries today - cant wait to get started.
Nan I guess your right, dont want you to feel weird or unprofessional or speechless, as all would upset me.
Erin a forum would be great! But be prepared for my email filled with a whole lot of crap about PGSM and Final Fantasy and LOTR n so forth, coz man, can I type!

Harry said...

I FORGOT ABOUT FINAL FANTASY AND LOTR!!!
I love both! and own all of lotr, and final fantasy 9 , x and x2

nan said...

HA! Harry fell for my evil plan to get more emails, and thus, make us feel as tho we have friends! HAHAHA! silly boy...

anywho, if you want to discuss FFX, talk to either Erin or Ellie. im still a newbie. If you want to discuss LOtR then GET THE HELL OUT OF MY SIGHT! (or got talk to ellie/erin). however, if you wish to talk about things such as, i dunno, MY BIRTHDAY WHICH IS OCTOBER 20TH, then im here for you. I realy need the 8th book of fushigi yugi. im just putting that out there...

Neil said...

Hey Benny, I just noticed that you said you have a JB Hi-Fi! Would it be that you live in Australia like myself and Harry?! That is unless they've expanded worldwide.
But yeah, it is the coolest store, they usually have everything I'm after no matter how obscure :P Actually I dont really buy obscure things, thats just obscure.

Erin said...

Yeah, benny is Australian - I didn't know you and harry were too, though! Wow, there are more Australian fans here than I thought. Which is good because I heart Australians. :D

And Nan, we really need to work on that LOTR-hatingness of yours. It's simply unacceptable/unforgiveable/uneccesary!

By the by, I'm working on getting a forum up on my borrowed webspace, but it could proove difficult as I don't want the CRZ board settings to somehow conflict with another message board on the same server. So...yeahs. I'll let you all know when I make more progress.

nan said...

We should make a quick field trip to Australia! what about next weekend? oh wait, ill be in montana. oh! we can go for halloween- LETS GO TRICK-OR-TREATING!

Harry said...

OOOH THATD BE AWESOME!
we could have our on little fear itself!
well maybe not as halloween isnt all that big in aussie!
and i think 'stalking' david b sounds much more interesting.

Harry said...

i just had a thought and as wondering, do u guys have msn?

Erin said...

No, but it's probably a good idea for us to get one - I know a lot (if not most) people outside the US use MSN as their instant messenger of choice. We have AIM (NotSoEvilTrio) though.

I personally like MSN more than AIM, but since I a) don't IM much and b) none of my friends who I'd talk to have MSN, it makes no sense for me to have one, unfortunately. *shrugs*

But yeah, I think tomorrow I'll whip one up for CRZ - I'll let you all know what it is tomorrow-ish. :D

Benny said...

Yay! Go Aussies! Neil, Harry, Im a Sydney boy.
Nan... LOTR is the single greatest work of fiction ever convieved. So Grrrrr. But im gonna send you a Happy Birthday Email anyway.
Erin - Im leaving you in full charge of nan and the LOTR thing. Oh and MSN would be very very good idea. All you need is a hotmail email address and then download 'windows live messenger' from www.live.com. (actually i checked, its http://get.live.com/messenger/overview)

Oh n if you guys ARE doing a halloween photoshoot - you should have one of you dress up as a soldier, one as a princess and one as, yep, sexy ghost! It would be On-Theme.

Harry said...

NO WAY!!! SO ARE ME AND NEIL!!
woooh sydney all the way!!
and were also mad lotr fans (arrgh nan)
its soooo goood and soo moving!
but yes i will still send a happy bday email, if possible!

Benny said...

wow! your not Lucas NEILL and HARRY Kewell are you??? :D
Its a small world after all!
We should get together take a photo for the site and be the 'official CRZ Aussie correspondents!'
(PS Neil how the hell did i miss the boat on such a DAMN brilliant thing as BSG?? The MiniSeries was (my god) brilliant!)

Harry said...

maybe wot an idea!
wereabouts in sydney do u live, we are on the north shore.
Auzzie Correspondandts assemble!

Neil said...

Us aussies do dominate. My god we've turned this into an australian invasion thread!!...coool. :P
And Benny I have no idea how you missed it. tut tut *shakes head*
I'm still trying to get my friends into it, but there is resistence.
Harry will watch it though. wont you harry!(say yes or else!) Its for your own good!
How good is the opening scene.
Erin you better whip that Nan into shape and cast out that lotr hatiness!

Benny said...

I live in randwick right near like moore park - SFS SCG n stuff. Fox Studios...
I used to live on the north shore when i was younger. In Pymble.
And Neil i hate when people are resistant to things. Like Buffy, people resisting buffy is like my most hated of all things in this world. When they think its like this stupid show, not like, utter brilliance.
grrr how I hate them!

Harry said...

You have never tried to get me to atch it neil!
but im willing to try new shows!
i no resistance is futile! geez, i was resistant about firefly then i bought and well wow.
oh yeah i love fox studios! the markets are the best!
Pymble's a really nice area itself, but yeah aussie sure does rock! and ditto'ing what neil said erin nan must become a lotr lover coz its soooo good.

Neil said...

I live in Pymble, well St Ives but theyre practically the same place.
I completely agree with the people who judge Buffy without having seen one episode, pisses me of incredibly, then they rant about how stupid it is to you all the time as a pay out which is equally annoying. Aint it harry.
Then I just realise what theyre missing. How beautiful and brilliant the show is and has been crafted, all those times I've turned to the show for help and comfort and everything's all good.

I was in Fox just afew days ago! Love Fox and the markets there. Have you been to Fratelli Fresh? Its near Fox Studios in Waterloo, Dank St. Its a great market with cafe, Im going with Harry soon, and its environment has the greatest vibe. Want to live around there when I can one day. Inner city living is the place to be :)

harry said...

oh yeah thats our plan remeber!! well to live in city (wasnt it??) to live together and have a rooooom devoted to buffy
sounds goood, hey neil seee you thursday, hope uve been practicing dancing.

Neil said...

Yep thats exactly what I was talking about Harry!
As soon as I saw these apartments on Dank St I knew that that would be where we should live. Seriously you'll know exactly what I mean on Thursday. Perfet place for our pad! lol

Benny said...

Im going to the socceroo's tomorrow at aussie stadium :D Ill be hanging at Fox for a while for some food beforehand.
Anyways. Wow we have outdone ourselves with this topic. 36 Replys! Pat ourselves on the back.
N how weird is that that you live in St Ives. My sister used to go to st ives high.
Ok Im gonna go write that email to the girls now... but neil and harry add me to your MSN beren_mortal@hotmail.com

Harry said...

i live in old wollstonecraft just before the city
yeah we outdid ourselves!!
awesome should be fun at the game, disapointing with the last one.
well have fun!

Neil said...

haha My dad went to St Ives high! Small world I tell ya!

a very sorry nan said...

Ok. so i would just like to apologize for my hostility towards Lord of the Rings. Although i find it revoltingly boring (the first one, atleast), i had no right to lash out at you, the Aussie Trio. I'm sorry. don't hate me. and benny, back to your sexy ghost idea as a halloween costume: FANTASTIC.

Benny said...

Nan, dont worry. Ive found that LOTR is probably the single hardest thing there is to 'get into'. Its stange, but when you finally do 'get into' it, something just clicks and, wham, your obsessed.
I cant tell you how many times I 'tried' to read it when i was younger. I did not get past the first chapter like 5 or 6 times. (And so many people have said 'oh ive tried ive tried'. But all i can suggest is just like force yourself. And if you havent seen the movies then please please dont till after you read the books.
Oh n I havent had time for that email yet, but it will come. Oh and to Erin, Neil and Harry - have you guys also read The Silmarillion, or Unfinished Tales?Im such a loser that ive also read the book thats just filled with all the letters Tolkien wrote throughout his life! I know, i suck.
(oh and girls dont fight over who gets to be sexy ghost. :P)

Neil said...

lol, Well first I want to read te appendices completely, then onto the Simarillion(sp?) it goes!
Oh and Nan, is it the books you cant connect with? or the films?
Harry and I were listening to your(trio) S5 review in the car about an hour ago lol. You all delve into the core of the writing and characters so well.
So will you guys be doing an 8th podcast? You wrote you would at the start and I thought it sounded really really cool.
Just reminising and talking about the hightlights and your faves. :D

Harry said...

no actually i havnt saddl enough, but i really want to.
theres so much more to lotr than just lord of the rings, if u get what im saying, theres like the war of jewels etc.
yeah it was awesome! (Car) and our other friend was in the middle of us and we were just like randomly lauging.
okay be proud and maybe ashamed of me, but today i finally got around to buying seasons 1 and 2 of btvs!
i dont no y i didnt do it earlier (money) but now i got them and am a full fledged fan!
:D
so i now i can listen to 1 and 2 (although i had a buffy marathon with neil about season 2)
and fully understand all of it!!
happy to be a member of the aussie trio, and nan, were not going to hold it against u coz u dont like lotr, its ure choice (but itd be a good browny point if u tried to get into it) and we like u guys to much to get angry at u!
:p

a very happy nan said...

yay! thanks. its the films that i cant get into-i was bored to death during the 1st. (i also tried to read the Hobbit when i was like 7, but i dont think that counts).

by the way, who are these "friends" of yours who dont watch buffy??? dump them STAT!

Ellie said...

I have successfully missed about 40 comments in a row, go me!! But I'll randomly jump in by saying we definitely do need a forum, and I'm glad you Aussies have all discovered your shared passion for cool refreshing podcasts, such as our own...although it's weird that we have so many Aussie fans. Maybe Australians just have better taste.

And I have to agree with Benny, LOTR is super hard to get into, but after the first few chapters it turns into one of the most fantabulous book series of all time. Erin and I are working on Nan right now...she hasn't seen Star Wars either X_X . But I'm still on Season 1 of Angel, so we all have issues.

Also, how exactly does one dress as a 'sexy ghost'? I guess being the ghost of Jessica Alba or something would work...but I thought the ghost costume was generally the standard sheet. Maybe that's just the Willow version?

Benny said...

Well its the white sheet, with the hot clothes under... You get to choose when and where you reveal the sexy...
Also im voting Erin for the princess. Just my opinion :D

spikebytes said...

Sorry, I wandered off for a bit. Oddly enough, I'm returning on Friday the 13th...is that bad?

Something must be done about this post and the plethora of comments associated with it.

Regarding MSN: I'm not a big IM'er, but that also means I'm not rooted anywhere so I'm open to pretty much anything.

Regarding BSG and other tv shows: I am excited to try out BSG! I've heard a lot of good things about it and hearing positive things from other BTVS and CRZ fans is further proof that BSG deserves a shot! Unfortunately, I'm still behind on House, Veronica Mars, and Bones. I'm just not ready to commit to a new series yet. Hopefully soon!

PS: Any chance anyone out there plays WoW?

Neil said...

You know, I was really very excited to get WoW as I was a huge player of Warcraft 3, but I just wouldnt be able to fund the monthly payments regularly. Wish I could, but it was just too expensive for me.
As for BSG, awesome your going to try it. You will not be dissapointed. I'd favour it far ahead of House and Bones but thats just me :D Both have great aspects to them.

Benny said...

La la la la 48 posts!!!

:D

spikebytes said...

Neil:
Hopefully, at some point, you can try out WoW. It is extremely fun and addictive...just like CRZ! ;-)
Here's what House and Bones have going for them that BSG does not...I'm already into them! The god news is I'm now caught up on House (or as near as I can be since I just wait for them to come out on dvd) and Veronica Mars is next on the list.

Erin said...

I'm glad other people here also like Bones. I only get to watch occassionally, but I totally love the show, and I love that David B has been able to step away from Angel and fit into this new role so well.

Also DAVID DUCHOVNY (OMGZ) apparently is going to be writing/directing/maybe appearing in an episode soon (according to David B's blog)! I cannot contain my utter fangirlish delight!!

Benny said...

Hey Erin, seeing you are well aware of all-things-cool out there... just thought id ask whether you know the song 'passion' by Hikaru Utada, im assuming of course you do - but i ask because im playing Kingdom Hearts 2 at the mom, and they use it as the opening theme song... in english - but its just so damn cool. And if your not aware then heres a link -

im so addicted to this song its killing me :P

Benny said...

I'm a big j-pop fan, so yeah, I'm a Hikki fan as well. Although my all time favourite j-pop artist is Hamasaki Ayumi. <3 <3

And for the record Passions/Sanctuary is an awesome song. The PV rocks too. I really love Hikki's new album, ULTRA BLUE.
