an update and a favor

Hey everyone~

I'm a little closer to getting the RSS feed back online...so hopefully that should be resolved soon.

Thanks to everyone who has left feedback so far! Please leave some feedback about what you all want to hear in our 8th episode of CRZ, as there is a *possibility* we may be recording that next month, around my birthday~ (march 27, of course).

Speaking of birthdays, during which one typically is at least nice to the birthday subject, I would like to ask you all a little favor...

Now most of you know there are those things out there that are like "WIN A FREE iPHONE LOLZ!"

Some of you may not know that some of these things actually work, though it takes a little effort. I have decided to try one that a friend of mine has had success with. There are options to win iPhones and other apple stuff, but I'm just going for the $300 in cash thing because I really need money for my Japan trip this summer (well, that or buying new podcasting equipment).

Since this whole thing is based on a referral system, this is where you all can come in. If you like.

Here is a step-by-step tutorial:

1. Register on this website. You'll have a choice of more than just a free iPhone. You can get a free 8gb iPod Nano, free 20" Apple Cinema Display, free 160GB iPod Classic, free 40GB Apple TV, or simply $300 in free cash.

Most people think these things are scams or fake, but they actually work if you do it right. They are based on referrals which, when completed, make advertising money for the giveaway sites. The trick is to pick offers that are absolutely free!

Which brings us to step two:

2. Complete an offer! As previously mentioned, completing a totally free offer is the easiest way to go. If you hurry, there is a free offer from Stamps.com. All you have to do is register at this website, navigate to free offers, and find the one for Stamps.com (last I checked it's on the last page of offers). You must keep the Stamps.com account for three weeks to get credit for the offer, and then cancel before the fourth week and retain the credit. What I plan to do is call after 21 days are up and say that I'm canceling because I have a - Mac. The software is only for PC, so it's a good excuse.

Or, you can keep your Stamps.com account and enjoy the convenience of printing postage from home (great for eBay sellers).

Now, when you register at the YourFreeiStuff.com website, you'll be given the option of completing via referrals or by completing offers. I chose referrals, because it is much easier for us to all help each other out by doing one offer than it is to complete several offers all on our own. That brings us to step number three.

3. Refer your friends using the referral link in your profile. They can even complete the same offer you did (remember, Stamps.com is totally free and requires no payment if you cancel between weeks 3 and 4).

That's it, after you refer enough friends, you can claim your free prize. :)

You can too, it's easy, free, a fun challenge, and it works!

If you want to help me out and refer me, please do so by clicking here! I only need 5 more! :D I'd very much appreciate it, and perhaps even you all could embark on your own free ipod winning quests. Trust me, this thing actually does work, I've seen people win things myself! :D

Oh, and as a side note, feel free to continue the convo in the comments from the last post in this one, if the one below is getting too long. As another side note, I'm glad there's activity going on in there, as the forum is practically barren! XD

I registered for the forum but was not invited:-(

I think its just that with such a small fanbase (NO OFFENCE JUST FACING FACTS) a forum dilutes our conversations too much I think?

Anonymous said...

old michael- you dont have to be invited! i think you just join.
Bunny- i agree. i personally am not a huge forum person- theyre so big, i get lost in them!

Anonymous said...

Ooo, I like being called Bunny.
Nan make sure you get Buffy #9 from Erin shes downloaded it for you. Thanks Erin :)

Being deficient, I was not able to join the forum - ain't never forumed before. Seriously, I'd get messages that the administrator had to invite me.
All talk, Buffy to Fleetwood - interesting because of the participants.
Benny=Bunny=funny, but Anya wouldn't like it.

(btw - "deficient" from Farscape "Crackers Don't Matter" - bought part of season 2 yesterday)

LOL, you guys are funny! Umm...I have a questions for you guys. SHould i buy the complete series of Angel on DVD or should I use the money for more Buffy comics/ $$ for my trip to L.A. for spring break?

Erin said...

Save for LA! I personally don't think it's worth to own Angel on DVD. Besides, even if you do decide you want it, you can always save up for later - while spring break is on the horizon. :P

Anonymous said...

hahahha, talk about a freudian slip! sorry bEnny.
StevenB- totally save it for LA (that way you can live out our failed spring break plans to that magical city).

this is random, but has anyone tried the energy drink called Nos? ok, so i drank an entire bottle last night (theyre huge) and it was like i was on acid. i had the strangest reaction to it. i drank it around 7, and by 2 i was walking around my room in circles. then i just stopped for like 5 minutes and stared at nothing, and then by 2:30 i was collaging random crap in my room...it was AWESOME! you guys should totally try it! looking back on it, ive realized that youre only supposed to have a few sips of it at a time, not the whole bottle...heh, my bad.

drug induced collage - bad trip

Is it ok if I go over to the corner and cry?
Michael I know the girls dont like angel. Thats fine for them, but from someone who actually rates it as his favorite show ever, then Im going to put my vote in for getting the DVDs.
That is all...Bunny.

Anonymous said...

Oh and nan, lol, not to be the devil on your shoulder but i think youve just discovered the reason why people take drugs :P

Anonymous said...

oh and nan youll need CDisplay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDisplay) to view the Buffy comic. Use the link in the wiki to download it.

Spikebytes!!! Where have you been, missy?? we've all missed you!

I loved Angel, if anyone cares, except, I hated the whole Zen hippie goddess with the Medusa acne thing:) She's way cooler in Firefly. I'm digging the Angel after the fall season six comic also...Is anyone reading this? It's fairly dramatic.(I'm one of those comic geeks- love Whedon's run on Astonishing X-men!). I mean, the X-men are so convoluted, that it's amazing that Joss was able to keep a core team together and do it as well or better than anyone has in years. Oh, and Nan did you get issue 11 of Buffy? It was goood..I heard that issue 12 is a not-to-be-missed because something big is gonna happen...perhaps the big bad reveal(it's suggested that the masked man is from Buff's past) or maybe Kennedy will show up and immediately get dead:)

Anonymous said...

Oh, and Nan I also drank a whole bottle of Nos at work...and I got really dizzy and screwed up a portrait I was airbrushing of someone's baby...I forgot I had black paint in my airbrush and started in on the nose...2 hours of work and the kid looked like a koala bear. No lie...never again with that noise, nos, whatever..

Anonymous said...

Me again. Say, are you girls gonna stick with Buffy for the 8th podcast? Maybe you can do your fav episode or the most pivitol from each season...just a thought. Mine are Prophecy girl, Halloween, the Prom, Pangs, Buffy vs Dracula(Giles with the Drac babes and Riley was kinda cool in this one), Life Serial (Andrew gets slapped with a rubber hand) and ...don't hate, but I liked "Him"(Anya was hilarious..."But you're gay"). Granted, they're not the obvious choices but wtf.

Anonymous said...

Agree with New Michael, podcast on pivotal eps would be cool - but I'd probably vote for the usual suspects (Restless, The Body, etc.). Not a comic geek, but picking up Buffy and Angel - looking at back issues and just got Spike "Shadow Puppets" - very good. Funny, I preferred Buffy on TV, but like Angel ATF better than Season 8. Anyone try the Buffy novels?

Anonymous said...

New Michael: im so happy im not the only person to have a strange reaction to Nos. It's so good, though (in a weird energy drink way). I think for episode 8 we're going to talk about a bunch of things, including favorite episodes. important story arcs, character development, and we're going to answer questions (so email some like stevenb and Bunny!!). Just to clear things up, i enjoyed Angel while i was watching it (for the most part), but looking back on it...i dont know. i really hated what they did w/ Spike's character. But there were definitely some AMAZING episodes/moments.

oh, and i haven't read #9 part 2 yet, but i will this weekend so i can get caught up

StevenB said...

WOW! I haven't been on here in a while...you guys comment a lot. So I made my decision, I'm saving my mom for my spring break trip to L.A. I can get the DVDs for my birthday or xmas or something...Hello spikebytes. I'm a recent addition to this...umm is this forum? oh and Nan, i'm gonna have to try some Nos...sounds like a far out experience. LOL.
I agree with you Nan. i enjoyed Angel too but the direction of Spike's character seemed to take away from what he did on Buffy, ya know? Well, I'll be emailing you guys again with stuff to talk about for episode 8.

TTFN!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.
Has anyone been reading the Angel comics? Are they good? I want to start...

Anonymous said...

Ok lots to say, very little time.
Spikey, great to see you again. missed you heaps!
Steven hope you have a great trip when it comes!
Angel ATF for me has been the most exciting thing in my life for a while. (Sad I know) Its just brilliant, really feels like a new season and feels like the good old days. Buffy Comics im rather 'meh' about. I like, Im not blown away. I kinda feel the Buffy storyline was 'done', if you get me. But im happy to read them. Angel was just really getting started, in my opinion, when it was axed.

Glad you got the email nan. Write back, I love getting emails, they makes me feel special.

Anonymous said...

Angel ATF very good - 2 thumbs up

Anonymous said...

It's interesting, most comic geeks hate Angel ATF but love the Buffy Season 8...They say things like..."angel on a dragon WTF". oops, don't want to spoil it...I like them both and being one who reads a lot of Joss written comics, i.e., Astonishing X-men, Serenity, Runaways...I know that his trademark as far as comics go is to seemingly meander and then "BAM" hit you in the face with something awesome! It's no coincidence that he is always ranked as one of the top 3 writers in every comic trade magazine ( and there are some good writers doing brilliant stuff on some comics i.e. Brian K Vaughn, Geoff Johns etc.). Unlike Kevin Smith who, like Joss, is a multi media talent (comics, movies etc.). But, never even finished his Daredevil run -which I'll never forgive him for - That was weak...sorry I'm rambling. My point is (if I have one) stay with the Buff cause it's gonna rock. Angel ATF is great so far...I just hope it doesn't - pardon my expression- blow it's load too soon. There's alot of WOW going on already in that series. Oh, Old Michael...I've read some of the novels, and really enjoyed a few and never finished a few...It's hard for me to get into something if it doesn't exactly fit into Buffyverse continuity(I know I'm a comic geek). How many things can happen during the summers between seasons etc. And don't even get me started on what they just did to Spiderman Continuity! Tragic!

Anonymous said...

Sorry my posts are so long...It just sorta happens:) And hi Steven

Anonymous said...

I've found the Angel comic to be almost all action from page 1, Buffy is action-talk-action-talk...guess there's no time to talk when you're living in hell. And for all the web-babble about the relative quality of IDW, looks very good to me (but, again, not a geek).

Spent a ride to the mall last week listening to a co-worker talk about Iron Man continuity, or lack of...
That's why I'm reading Complete Peanuts, from 1950 to 1964 - only 35 years to go.

And just ordered Farscape seasons 3 and 4.

Money go boom!

Anonymous said...

new michael dont worry about rambling that was a great post!

I know exactely what you mean about the Joss comics. And your right about the Buff Comics, how we should stick with them. Not that I would 'give up' on them of course. As a whole they will be a work of art, im sure. Its just at this exact moment... in my mind... im not really all that concered about 'when' the next comic is, or 'whats gonna happen' to the characters, Ill just ejoy it when its time comes...

ATF, however, im REALLY excited about issue 4... wondering whats gonna happen in it, trying to figure out little mysterys that have been brought up, or just eluded to... imagining different places the story ccould be going to go.

That for me is the difference between the 2 comics at the moment. And your right, ATF has been all action, and i hope it doesnt, as you say, suffer premature .. er.. anticipation? no ... emancipation...? no, clarification? geez i dont know.

But the thing is, I dont think it WILL. I think, as i said before, that AtS was sort of killed mid-sentence, if you will... theres lots of good stuff to come.

spikebytes said...

Nan: So much has been happening I don't know where to begin! Perhaps it's best not to...it might just fill the page. I've missed you guys too! You three all doing well?

Benny: Thanks Benny! It's great to be back!

Stevenb: Welcome! It's always nice to meet new faces here.

Sounds like I need to catch up on my comic reading so that I can participate more in the discussion. hehe

Old Michael- Still digging Farscape? I think it's money well spent (yet I don't own any of the dvd's cause they're like, friggin(frellin) expensive! One of my favs though...Oh and don't forget about the two part finale they did after they prematurly sent the series to the gallows. Benny, maybe you could wait to get the Buffy comics in trade instead of single issues. That's what I did with Joss's X-Men and they really do read way better in bulk:) I think all comics are gonna go this route within 5 years anyway. Off to watch Smallville and Supernatural:) Supernatural's doing one of those reset episodes that every sci-fi/fantasy show must have i.e. Life Serial, X_files bank robbery episode and Star Trek NextGen's (well they did a few). You know, like Groundhog Day. Smallville I've been watching forever even though it never really goes anywhere...but they did have Black Canary on last week...HOTT. Guilty pleasure, I know, but I still watch 90210 in reruns, so there it is...Damn that Brenda!

Anonymous said...

Farscape - season 1 not available and the rest frelling expensive as you say - it would have been huge if the DVD distribution didn't suck. - but I will say, menus and feature on Starburst editions - very well done. If ya wanna save some bucks all seasons on mininova.org right now.

Nan - just bought Neutral Milk "Aeroplane" - cheap on vinyl.

Sorry guys! things have been so crazy!!!
Bunny (this is officially your new name. accept it. embrace it. love it.)- my real name is Amanda, and when my brother was little he called me Nanda, which turned into Nanny, which turned into Nan. Thus endith the history of my name.
I really hope Ellen Page wins for Juno! she was fantastic!!!
ok- so new topic starter:
if you could be any tv character, who would you be? now think hard before answering.
I need to think about my answer...

spikebytes said...

Nan: Awww, thanks chica. *hugs* So nice to know that someone will keep Bunny from stealing my lunch! Also, love the story about your name! Gonna have to put more thought into the TV char question.

Bunny: While I refuse to bore everyone with the details, the basics are as follows... I couldn't seem to read the posts here, nor could I get through to the forums so I basically stopped coming by. Then I got a new house, a new truck, a promotion at work, my grandmother passed away, my new truck broke down, my best friend found out she has breast cancer, and now I'm working about 65 hours a week since my department of 3 had one person decide not to come back from maternity leave and the other gave notice and left...guess who's #3? I think that's all the major stuff. What all's new with you?

Everyone else: *raspberry*

Did I mention big hugs?? coz im giving you two or three or four more!

Love ya!

Hey everyone-
Well Nan, I thought hard about my answer (really, like 30 seconds:) ) and for me, it's a no brainer...Peter Petrelli from Heroes. I mean the guy absorbs all powers...flight, teleportation, telekinesis, invisibilty, savant-like artistic ability, super hearing, strength and on and on and on. And of course I'd use those powers for the good of all mankind- I mean like, after I crushed my enemies or anyone who basically pisses me off in traffic( oh yeah, no need to drive like a peasant anymore:). And there's that whole steal millions of dollars( from bad people, of course) and travel (fly/teleport) around the world...Then, after visiting every tropical island, art gallery, and famous moment in the distant past i.e., JFK assassination, the Crucifixion perhaps, my first girlfriend etc....then, save the world? Nah...F the world..Ha, sorry...

Anonymous said...

new michael - but what would you do the following day?

Anonymous said...

I'd paint, of course:) And watch Buffy

Anonymous said...

New Michael- interesting choice. I don't watch heroes, but he sounds like a sweet choice.
I think my choice might be Brian Kinney from Queer As Folk(ignoring our slight gender differences) because A) he's gorgeous B) hes confident and extremely unapologetic C) he's with Justin, and D)HOTTT!

Im not positive, but im pretty sure thats who id want to be.

Anonymous said...

Nan, you don't watch Heroes?!?! But...but..it's big and bold and season arc-ed like Buffy...You should give it a go...And, Brian, huh? Is unapologetic another word for extremely pretentious? It's been a long time since I've watched QasF, but I recall him screwing Justin(no pun blah blah) royally...I may have that wrong though...Kiddin aside, he was a good character, and yeah, good looking- all the queens loved him. Oh, I've just read the new Angel comic...they're really starting to tie things together...it's goooood

spikebytes said...

If I could be any tv character....hmmmm. I've been thinking a lot about this one and I keep coming back to Buffy. There are so many reasons I would NOT want to be Buffy. However, I would love to have Spike's affection! I think it would be interesting to see how the decisions I make (don't always agree with her, sorry) change things.

Anonymous said...

I think Buffy is a great choice, but i don't think I could handle the responsibility. High School is hard enough as is.
new michael- yes brian "screws" several of the characters (but have you looked at the cast? that doesnt sound so bad ;) ) but he is always honest. he also speaks his mind, something very few people are brave enough to do. ALSO, although he never admits it, he really does love his friends, and is willing to do anything to help them, but in his own way and on his own terms. and finally, and i think i might have mentioned it, hes gorgeous (yes, i really am that shallow).

Anonymous said...

Did anyone read the new Buffy issue? Cause like, Whoa! WTF?!

Anonymous said...

no, but i heard about what happens! i haven't read past #9p1, so i don't really know the context of it, but what the hell?!? i don't think i like what i've heard...

Anonymous said...

New Buffy - yes, but I think they really milked that scene too much - how many other people could enter the room and say, "Buffy, WTF?" Although, Giles with a "Good Lord!" or Spike with a "Bloody Hell!" would have been okay. Also don't think Whedon would use this as just a gag - how will he pay this off?

Anonymous said...

Good question Old Michael.. I'm wondering what the payoff is myself. I liked the end though...didn't think I'd be hearing from that character anytime soon...but with the Buffy thing...I mean I got faith in Joss, but not blind faith, and if this was or is just a gimmick, well, that well's been tapped out...but, hey, benefit of the doubt.

Anonymous said...

"character at the end" - preview of next issue at Dark Horse suggests that he's not been well. No other guy gets over Buffy, why should he?

Just listened to the Joss'd podcast. They have a recording of the buffy reunion panel that just took place in LA. SMG was there as well as Joss, Tara, Anya, Spike, Dawn, Oz, Marty and some of the writers. It's a good listen except for the screaming banshee girl who was recording it live... Some funny moments and some audience questions... Aparently SMG's favorite movie is the South Park movie...And Dawn likes Radiohead. Also Joss and company didn't rule out a spinoff or feature film...And Oz is gonna show up in Season 8. Sarah was really cool and funny...Check it out. You can get it from itunes if you search podcasts and I believe it's called Joss'd. ttfn.. Oh, Happy B-day erin
